Creighton Drops Fourth Straight 6-0

Illinois State shut out Creighton 6-0 Saturday afternoon in Normal, sending the Bluejays to their fourth-straight loss, longest of the season.

The Redbirds got a single run in the third, two more in the fifth and put the game away with three in the sixth. Dan Savas improved to 7-0 with an eight-inning effort, limiting CU to three hits and three walks while striking out eight.

Bluejay starter Nick Musec (1-5) allowed three runs on five hits and four walks in 4.1 innings. Mark Winkelman relieved Musec in the fifth, taking sole possession of the MVC record for career appearances with 124.

Creighton fell to 24-13 and 8-6 in the Missouri Valley Conference while Illinois State moved to 31-16 and 11-3 in the MVC.
