Omaha native Joe Bircher baffled the Bluejay hitters and Chris Godinez hit a two-run homer as Bradley beat Creighton 3-1 Friday night in Peoria.
Bircher (7-1) went the distance, giving up the one run on three hits, striking out nine and walking three. CU starter Ty Blach (3-5) threw his first complete game of the season, giving up three runs on six hits, striking out three and not walking a batter.
Creighton (16-23, 3-12 MVC) got its lone run in the ninth inning. Nick Judkins reached safely on an error by second baseman Godinez. Anthony Bemboom then walked and Alex Staehely singled to score Judkins.
Bradley improved to 25-17-1, 8-8 in the Missouri Valley Conference.
