Creighton men's basketball will make at least nine appearances on the ESPN family of networks in 2012-13.
It's part of the league's record 48-game telecast package during the 2012-13 academic year, Commissioner Doug Elgin announced Thursday.
Creighton's games that will be shown by ESPN and its networks include November 23rd (Wisconsin), November 24th (Arkansas/Arizona State), December 1st (Saint Joseph's), Nebraska (December 6th), Northern Iowa (January 15th), Wichita State (January 19th), Southern Illinois (January 27th), Illinois State (February 9th) and Evansville (February 16th).
Four of the games will air on ESPN2, three on ESPN3 and one on ESPNU. The January 27th contest at Southern Illinois will air on either ESPNU or ESPN3 with a decision made in early January.
The Valley, which is in the second year of a five-year agreement with ESPN, will clear a record-number 30 men¹s basketball telecasts on ESPN networks. ESPN will carry the events on ESPN2, ESPNU and ESPN3. An additional 18 other MVC contests (volleyball in addition to women¹s basketball and baseball) are featured on the package this year.
For the eighth consecutive season, CBS Sports will air the title game of the MVC Men's Basketball Championship. CBS, which purchased the rights from ESPN, will televise the contest on Sunday, March 10th, at 1 p.m. Central.
Having the title game of Arch Madness shown on CBS Sports speaks for itself, said Elgin.
