Nebraska Zaps Wolverines 3-1

Behind a season-high 16 team blocks, Nebraska beat Michigan 3-1 (21-25, 25-13, 25-17, 25-21) at the NU Coliseum Sunday afternoon.

Two Huskers notched double-doubles as Lauren Cook paced the offense with 48 assists and tallied 16 digs. Gina Mancuso posted 12 kills and also notched 16 digs. Morgan Broekhuis led Nebraska offensively with 16 kills on 38 swings for a .395 hitting percentage. Hayley Thramer notched 12 kills on 20 swings for a .450 hitting percentage. Hannah Werth also recorded 16 digs for NU while Lara Dykstra had 15.

Broekhuis had a season-high eight blocks. Thramer notched seven blocks while Mancuso had four. Nebraska’s 16 team blocks were the most since the team totaled 18 against Michigan last November.

Nebraska (11-2, 3-1) hit .291 and Michigan was held to a .162 hitting percentage. The Wolverines had 12 team blocks, but were out-dug 72-65.
