The Nebraska football team practiced for two hours in half pads on the Ed and Joyanne Gass practice fields Monday afternoon, as the Huskers began preparations for Saturday's Big Ten Conference showdown at Ohio State.

Offensive Coordinator Tim Beck addressed the media after practice. Beck said that the offense will have to work on its consistency while going against the Buckeye defense.

“We are not as consistent as I would like us to be,” Beck said. “We've got to learn how to get out of our own way and not turn the ball over and not have penalties.”

Beck also said that it seemed the players were too excited for the start of the game against Wisconsin, which may have been the reason why there were early turnovers.

“I think our guys were so hyped for the game, it gave them some nervous energy and guys tried so hard they got out of their element of just playing the game,” Beck said.

Beck and the Husker offense will have their work cut out for them Saturday against a very solid Buckeye defense.

“They are physical and fast, and they are well coached," Beck said. "It will be a great challenge for us.”
