Christian DeLeon and Dylan Vogt combined on a five-hit shutout and Josh Scheffert drove in three runs to lead Nebraska to a 6-0 win at Minnesota Friday afternoon.
An RBI single from Scheffert in the top of the first was all the Huskers would need, but the senior added a solo home run in the eighth and a sacrifice fly in the ninth.
Nebraska (22-25, 13-6 Big Ten) blew the game open with four runs in the ninth. Pat Kelly singled following a walk to Wes Edrington. Rich Sanguinetti extended his hitting streak to 13 games with a single and Kash Kalkowski added an RBI triple. Scheffert and Chad Christensen each came through with a sacrifice fly.
DeLeon gave the Huskers 6.0 shutout innings, limiting the Golden Gophers (28-17, 11-5 Big Ten) to three hits and a pair of walks while striking out three. Vogt took over in the seventh and retired seven straight hitters before Ryan Abrahamson reached on a one-out single. Vogt picked up his eighth save of the season.
