Husker Bowling Coach Recovering From Heart Surgery

Nebraska women's bowling coach is taking a leave of absence after undergoing emergency heart surgery. According to an athletic department statement, Bill Straub had surgery for an aortic dissection on January 9th and will be on leave indefinitely pending his full recovery.

Straub's longtime assistant, Paul Klempa, has been named interim head coach.

The Huskers are the defending NCAA champions. Straub also led NU to national titles in 2004, 2005 and 2009.
