Senior right-hander Ashley Hagemann was Nebraska's lone all-region selection announced by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association on Thursday. She earned second-team All-Midwest region honors for the second consecutive season.
Hagemann was a second-team All-Big Ten selection in 2012 after posting a 23-17 record with a 2.62 ERA, appearing in 47 of Nebraska's 55 games, including 38 starts.
Hagemann struck out 320 batters this season, sixth in the country. She was the only pitcher in the Big Ten Conference to strike out 300 and joined Ashley DeBuhr as the only Huskers to post back-to-back 300-strikeout seasons. Her 988 career strikeouts are the most in program history.
In addition to being Nebraska's all-time strikeout leader, Hagemann ranks third in Husker history in innings pitched (821.0) and complete games (87), fourth in wins (75), sixth in saves (8), eighth in shutouts (20) and ninth in no-hitters (1).
