Bluejay Late Show Comes Through Again

For the second day in a row, Creighton used a ninth-inning rally to beat Bradley 4-2 Sunday afternoon in Peoria, Illinois.

The Bluejays (18-23, 5-12 MVC) led 2-0 heading into the home sixth courtesy of RBI singles by Chance Ross and Scott Thornburg. Bradley (25-19, 8-10 MVC) then got a run on an Austin Jarvis RBI single.

The Braves tied the game in the eighth on a pair of doubles by Max Murphy and Jason Leblebijian off reliever Kurt Spomer.

Jake Peter drew a one-out walk in the ninth and Brennan Murphy put down a sacrifice bunt that was thrown into right field after being fielded by pitcher Jacob Booden (2-2). With runners on second and third, Booden threw a wild pitch that gave the Jays a 3-2 lead. A throwing error by second baseman Chris Godinez allowed Murphy to slide home safely.

Reese McGraw (4-5) retired the Braves in order in the bottom of the ninth, giving him his second win in as many days.
