Taylor Edwards hit a home run and her twin sister Tatum tossed four scoreless innings as Nebraska capped a perfect weekend with a 11-0, five-inning win over New Mexico Sunday afternoon at Las Cruces.
The Huskers finished 5-0 at the Hotel Encanto Invitational, matching its best start to a season since 2003.
Taylor Edwards finished 3-for-3 with a double, a home run, two runs scored and five RBIs. Tatum picked up her fourth win allowing only two hits. Freshman right-hander Danica Bishop made her debut tossing a 1-2-3 bottom of the fifth. Brooke Thomason knocked two doubles and had four RBIs.
Lauren Soles (0-2) took the loss for the Lobos, who fell to 0-6 on the season. Soles allowed seven runs (five earned) in three innings.
