There was an extra workout after Sunday’s Creighton game for Bluejay players and coaches who were joined by former professional players and area coaches at the annual Bill Steckis Free Baseball Clinic For Kids.
Hundreds of young ballplayers got a chance to watch the Creighton-Bradley game and then pick up some pointers. “Just to know that Omaha now is a place that has a real serious tradition of giving back to the community, not every city has something like this where they know they've got a free baseball clinic with hundreds of kids every year,” said Steckis.
This was the 14th year for the clinic and it was easy to see the kids loved it. A lot of parents chose to stay and watch.
