The women’s bracket for the NCAA Tournament were revealed Monday night. The announcement left Nebraska, Iowa, and Iowa State preparing to play later this week.
The Cornhuskers are 4th seed in their region. They will play 13th seed Fresno State at 3 p.m. Saturday in Los Angeles. If they get two wins in L.A., then the Huskers will advance to the next round which will be played in Lincoln.
The Iowa Hawkeyes are 6th seed in their region. They will play 11th seed Marist at 7 p.m. Sunday in Iowa City. The Iowa State Cyclones will play 10th seed Florida State at 3 p.m. Saturday in Ames.
The bracket announcement left the Husker team exhilarated. Not only are they going to a warmer climate, Los Angeles, but the team has become somewhat stir crazy. Tear’a Laudermill said, “Wooh! I'm so happy. I seen Los Angeles, I had to ask them if it was real. I was like wait, that means we're going to LA? As in California? Haha. I had to re-check."
Coach Connie Yori said, "I mean it's fun to hear who you're going to play. I mean, we've been sitting here now for 8 days. We haven't played a game. We're, you know, we're so used to preparation and in practice, who we're going to play and what are we going to do. We get to go to LA.!”
