U.S. Women Inspire New Generation

Who is your favorite U.S. soccer player?

"I like Abby Wambach, says Delaney"
"Hope Solo, says Maddie."
"Abby Wambach, cheered Katie"
"Lauern Cheney, added Rilee."

One year ago that answer probably would have been Mia Hamm, but that all changed with the United State's run to the Women's World Cup finals.

"I just like seeing them make all of the goals they have had and the amazing passes. They are just a great team. They have a lot of great players and they are really good this year," says Katie.

Last summer all the girls got to see the team play when the U.S. played an exhibition in Omaha.

"It was really cool, because we got to see them not on the tv screen. We got to see them playing in person here in Omaha," added Katie.

Most of the women on this years World Cup team were in camps just like this one the last time the U.S. won the World Cup in 1999. These girls are hoping to follow in their footsteps.

"They always had people to inspire them like Mia Hamm, but now Abby Wambach is like Mia Hamm. Its just amazing, it shows me maybe I could be in the World Cup one day," says Rilee.

Now these girls are just hoping America can beat japan and bring home the trophy.

"That would be awesome because then everyone would be like OH MY GOSH, THE U.S. IS AWESOME. It would just be cool," says Delaney.
