A UNO baseball player continues to improve at a Lakeland, Florida hospital where he is being treated for an on-field injury. Beau Suponchick was hurt after colliding with a teammate diving for a line drive. Suponchick suffered internal bleeding and a swollen kidney.

He was originally in intensive care. Bob Suponchick says his son was released from ICU and placed in a regular hospital room on Wednesday. He said Beau is doing well and is looking forward to being released from the hospital soon and rejoining the Mavericks.

Suponchick's injury came in the first game of the Central Florida Invitational.
