UNO Men's Soccer Picked Second in Summit League Poll

The Omaha men's soccer team was picked to finish second in the Summit League Preseason Poll released on Wednesday.

Denver received the maximum six first-place votes and 36 total points to finish atop the poll. The Pioneers return 16 letterwinners, including seven starters, from last year's league champion team.

The Mavericks received the only other first-place vote - coaches were not allowed to vote for their own teams. The Mavs tallied 29 points to edge Western Illinois by one point.

UNO returns 15 letterwinners and eight starters off of last year's team that tied for third in the league standings. Christian Garcia (4g, 2a) leads the way after earning Summit League Newcomer of the Year honors last season.
Oral Roberts (21 points) came in fourth, while IUPUI (15), Eastern Illinois (10) and Fort Wayne (8) rounded out the poll.
Omaha hosts the Red-Black Scrimmage on Saturday at 7 p.m.
