The season begins on Saturday, August 13th with Hartford playing at Virginia, the league's newest team.
Joe Moglia makes his head-coaching debut 28 years after he served as a collegiate defensive coordinator when the Omaha Nighthawks travel to Sacramento to take on the Mountain Lions on August 14th, the league's first-ever game played on a Sunday.
Omaha (22,786) and Sacramento (18,125) topped the UFL in average home attendance last season.
A week later on Sunday, August 21st, the Nighthawks will debut at the team’s new home, TD Ameritrade Park, when they host the Virginia Destroyers.
“That is going to be a big deal,” said Moglia. “TD Ameritrade Park is truly a first-class, beautiful stadium. To be able to play there is going to be exciting and I hope Omaha is going to be excited about it. I feel really good about the schedule. We know the teams and coaches we’re going to play against and I’m ready to get started.”
The season culminates with the United Football League Championship Game the weekend of October 21st-23rd between the top two teams in the final regular season standings at a venue to be determined.
The UFL schedule features 11 games on Saturdays, five games on Sundays and four games on Fridays.
