Storm Chasers Prevail 5-4 In 10

Johnny Giavotella's RBI single in the 10th inning scored Willy Taveras to give the Storm Chasers a 5-4 win over Iowa Friday night at Werner Park.

The Cubs had tied the game in the ninth on Brad Nelson's two-run homer.

Omaha had taken a 1-0 lead in the third on a David Lough triple followed by Christian Colon's sacrifice fly. The Cubs went up 2-1 in the fourth on Ryan Sweeney's two-run blast. Max Ramirez led off the home fourth with his third home run of the year to tie the game.

Brandon Wood homered in the seventh and Giavotella's sac fly in the eighth plated Lough to give the Chasers a 4-2 lead.

Michael Mariot (1-0) got credit for the win and Zach Putnam (0-1) took the loss.
