Four pitchers combined on a five-hit shutout as the Zephyrs defeated Omaha 2-0 Friday night in New Orleans.
Nick Green led off the second inning with his 11th home run of the season. Green led off the sixth with a single, went to second on a ground out and to third when Rob Brantly singled. Chase Lambin’s sacrifice fly sent Green home for a 2-0 lead.
That would be all the Zephyrs needed. Omar Poveda (1-1) went five innings and Gary Glover, Evan Reed and Chris Hatcher finished things off.
Doug Davis (5-2) went the distance for the Storm Chasers, charged with both runs on nine hits. He walked three and struck out three.
