Burke High School hosted a pep rally Friday to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the school. The Bulldog dance team performed alongside the band, drill team and cheerleaders.
The dance team practices daily and sometimes learns multiple dances a week. They say as a result, because they spend so much time together, they’re like a family. But in the middle of all the hard work, they find plenty of time to have fun.
“We're all like a family; we all have a lot of fun. We do everything together and it's just a really good experience,” said Remmi Hartmann.
“Performing is probably the best thing to do. I love doing it, its fun to watch the crowd the pay off is amazing,” said Abby Stephanek.
The girls tell me they have several competitions this year, including state. Their ultimate goal: a trip to nationals.
