Jake Guentzel scored three goals and the Musketeers converted three times on the power play en route to a 5-1 win over Omaha Saturday night in Sioux City.
The home team took the lead during a five-on-three power play as Guentzel’s attempted pass deflected off a Lancer defenseman before rolling inside the right post at 8:43 of the opening period.
The Lancers answered on a two-man advantage when Jake Randolph punched in his 13th goal of the year at the 13:58 mark of period one.
It was all Sioux City from there with four unanswered goals. Guentzel scored again 9:43 into the middle stanza.
Then in the third, Guentzel completed his hat trick with another power play score at 2:07, his 25th goal of the season. Jared Thomas added a power play goal at 14:24 and Ryan Mantha finished things off with an empty-net goal with :04 remaining.
