Justin Maxwell's three-run homer in the eighth gave the Storm Chasers a 6-5 win over Round Rock Monday afternoon at Werner Park.
Omaha jumped out to an early lead. Christian Colon and Johnny Giavotella singled in the first inning and advanced on a double steal. Maxwell then singled them in. Colon's sacrifice fly in the second scored Matt Fields for a 3-0 lead.
Adam Rosales' RBI single got the Express on the scoreboard in third. An inning later, Josh Wilson doubled and scored on a Kensuke Tanaka single to cut Omaha's lead to 3-2.
Round Rock went ahead 4-3 with single runs in the seventh and eighth. Wilson homered to lead off the seventh. In the eighth, J. P. Arencibia singled and came around to score on a fielder's choice.
In the bottom of the eighth, Giavotella singled and Mike Moustakas walked before Maxwell sent his first homer of the year over the left field fence for a 6-4 lead.
Brent Lillibridge homered in the ninth for the game's final run. Spencer Patton (2-0) got the win and Roman Mendez (0-1) took the loss.
Earlier, the teams completed Sunday night's 2-2 game suspended in the seventh inning by rain. Round Rock scored two runs in the ninth on back-to-back triples and an error to defeat the Storm Chasers 4-2.
Ryan Strausborger tripled off Francisley Bueno (0-2) and scored on Rosales' triple. Rosales came home on a throwing error by shortstop Brian Bocock.
Moustakas hit his first home run since being sent down by the Royals last Thursday.
Miles Mikolas (2-0) got the win for the Express.
