Nebraska head coach Bo Pelini released a statement Thursday concerning the injury to offense lineman Ryne Reeves during Wednesday's practice at the Hawks Championship Center.

Reeves was removed from the field on a stretcher. “Ryne Reeves had full sensation and movement in all extremities following his injury at practice on Wednesday. As a precautionary measure, he was transported for further evaluation of his neck pain. All of his imaging studies were normal and it is being treated as a cervical strain injury. Ryne will continue to be treated and evaluated and we are optimistic that he will be able to return to practice sometime following spring break.”

Pelini said after the two-hour workout that they were taking precautionary measures after Reeves complained of neck pain. “Ryan was having pain in his neck and anytime you have pain in your neck we're going to treat it with caution."

The Huskers practice Thursday for the last time before spring break. The squad returns March 31st in preparation for the Spring Game on April 12th.
