A goal in the 77th minute was the difference in a 2-1 Portland State win over the UNO women Sunday afternoon at the Soccer Etc./Nike Classic in Boise, Idaho.
Portland State (2-5-1) took a 1-0 lead in the seventh minute when Daniela Solis scored off an assist from Megan Martin.
The Mavericks (0-9) tied the game when Melanie McCormick scored her first goal of the season off an assist from Katlyn Nimtz at 56:34. Nimtz's initial shot was saved by the Vikings' goalkeeper, but McCormick jumped on the rebound and scored from eight yards out.
Martin scored from 10 yards out on the left side of the box at 76:14 off an assist from Melissa Bishop.
Portland State finished with a 22-9 edge in shots and an 11-6 advantage in shots on goal.
