Oregon Takes Down Nebraska In Four

Alaina Bergsma had 23 kills in a dominating performance and fifth-seeded Oregon advanced to next week's NCAA semifinals in Louisville with a four-set victory over fourth-seeded Nebraska in the Omaha Regional final Saturday night at the CenturyLink Center.

The Ducks lost the first set 15-25, then won the next three 25-22, 25-18, 25-17.

Bergsma, the Pac 12 player of the year, had only two errors on 49 swings and hit .429. She was named the regional's most outstanding player. Ariana Williams added 13 kills and Katherine Fischer 12 for the Ducks (29-4), who were playing in their first regional final. Oregon next will face No. 1 Penn State Thursday night.

Gina Mancuso and Morgan Broekhuis had 16 kills apiece for Nebraska (26-7). Broekhuis hit .406, while Mancuso added 15 digs to finish with a double-double in her final match. Fellow senior Hannah Werth ended her career with a double-double of her own, finishing with 10 kills and 13 digs. Lauren Cook dished out 46 assists in her final match, helping the Huskers hit .265, including a blistering .621 in the first set.
