Omaha Racers Reunite 20 Years After Winning CBA Title

Twenty years ago the Omaha Racers won the Continental Basketball Association championship. Many of the players from that 1993 team gathered for a reunion Saturday at Ralston Arena, holding a clinic and signing autographs.

About 30 former Racers got back together, including head coach Mike Thibault, now coaching the WNBA’s Washington Mystics. Some of the players went on to have successful careers in the NBA, most notably Tim Legler, who won an NBA three-point contest and is now a commentator for ESPN. Legler was among those in attendance on Saturday.

The Racers played at Ak-Sar-Ben Coliseum from 1989 to 1997.
