Anthony James buried a three at the buzzer giving Northern Iowa a 65-62 win over Creighton Saturday in Cedar Falls, snapping the Bluejays' 11-game winning streak.
James scored 14 of his 16 points in the second half and Seth Tuttle added 13 points for the Panthers, who handed Creighton its first loss since late December.
James buried a huge three from the corner with :23 left to put Northern Iowa (16-9, 6-7 MVC) ahead 61-56. Creighton's Antoine Young hit a three with :04.6 left to tie it at 62-all. But James dribbled the length of the court and pulled up for the game-winner at the buzzer, sending fans streaming onto the court.
Young scored 23 points and Doug McDermott, who originally committed to Northern Iowa, had 18 points and 12 rebounds for Creighton (21-3, 11-2).
