The Omaha Nighthawks open the 2012 season on the road Friday night when they take on the Sacramento Mountain Lions.
This will be Nighthawks’ third season and the fourth year for the United Football League. The team went 3-5 during its inaugural season in 2010 and finished 1-4 in the shortened 2011 season.
The Nighthawks’ only victory last year was at Sacramento. Omaha squeaked by with a field goal in the final seconds to win 33-30. The Nighthawks later lost to Sacramento 25-19 at TD Ameritrade Park in the final game of the season.
The Nighthawks play at Las Vegas next Wednesday before returning home to face Virginia on October 12th.
