New Athletic Director for Central H.S.

Central High School has a new assistant principal/athletic director. Interim Superintendent Dr. Virginia Moon named Thomas Lee to the position Wednesday.

The Omaha Public School District says Lee began his career at OPS as a physical education teacher at Morton Magnet School and North Magnet School. He served as the Vikings’ assistant football coach for 10 years, was the co-head coach for boys and girls track for 11 years, and head girls basketball coach for seven years.

Lee left the district to serve as the assistant women’s basketball coach at the University of Nebraska at Omaha. He returned to OPS as the athletic director at North High Magnet School where he served four years.

He was then building administrator for a year at Blackburn School then went to Burke High School to serve as the dean of students and head girls basketball coach. For the past three years, he has served Central High as the dean of students as well as the head girls basketball coach and assistant girls track coach.
