The Sounds built an 11-0 lead over Omaha en route to an 11-5 win Saturday night in Nashville.
Scooter Gennett tripled to lead off the home first and scored on Jeff Bianchi's single. Bianchi took second on a wild pitch and scored on Stephen Parker's single. Caleb Gindl's sacrifice fly in the third made it 3-0.
It became a 5-0 game in the fourth. Blake Davis, Gennett, Bianchi and Hunter Morris hit consecutive singles. Nashville added two more in the sixth and four in the seventh on Cole Garner's grand slam.
The Storm Chasers finally broke the ice in the eighth. David Lough reached on an error by second baseman Gennett, Christian Colon was hit by a pitch and Johnny Giavotella singled to load the bases. Lough scored on Xavier Nady's ground out to third. Colon scored on a Max Ramirez ground out and Giavotella came in when Adam Moore reached on an error by shortstop Bianchi.
With two outs in the ninth, Lough and Colon singled, Giavotella walked and Nady singled home Lough and Colon.
Jesus Sanchez (2-0) got the win and Brian Sanches (1-1) took the loss.
