The Creighton and Nebraska basketball teams have made their way to San Antonio.
The Jays arrived at their hotel around 6 p.m. Wednesday. It’s the third straight trip to the NCAA tournament for Creighton but this one a little different.
Creighton is a three seed - now the hunted instead of the hunters. But besides a little nicer hotel, it’s business as usual for the boys in blue.
Creighton Senior Doug McDermott said, "It is still the same. The stakes are high we have more of a target on us now that we are a three seed, so it adds a little pressure but our team will handle it well. We will just go out there and play our best basketball."
The Huskers arrived a little later. They practiced in Lincoln Wednesday and did not make it to Texas until about 9 p.m. but the journey has been a whole lot longer than that.
Nebraska Head Coach Tim Miles said, "I am really thankful for the opportunity here and to have this program for some of our fans to experience what they have not been through in a long, long time. They invested emotionally in this team. Thank goodness we made the tournament. Now let’s go take that next step and find a way to win."
Nebraska and Creighton both have practice and a media session on Thursday and the madness begins Friday morning: Nebraska and Baylor 11:40 a.m. followed 25 minutes later by Creighton and Louisiana.
