The injury news for Creighton is much better than originally expected after Tuesday's win at Depaul.
Doug McDermott has a sprained AC joint and is listed day to day.
“It's just a minor sprain and some bruised bones. I think a couple of days off and I think I'll be good to play," McDermott said before practice on Wednesday.
An MRI for Grant Gibbs revealed a dislocated kneecap, and the senior is expected to miss four weeks.
"It wasn't as bad as they anticipated," Gibbs said. "No ACL and no MCL, which is really good news considering what they initially thought."
McDermott is not expected to miss this weeks game against Xavier, and Gibbs says he will try to return earlier than the four week diagnosis.
