University of Nebraska Omaha head hockey coach Dean Blais announced Wednesday the six student-athletes who will join the team for the 2012-13 season.

The list includes three forwards, two defensemen and a goalie.

“After two large recruiting classes, we have a smaller group this season but no less talented,” said Blais. “In fact, all six of these players will be able to contribute to our team right away. Our goal, as always, is to win the WCHA regular season and playoff championship and to compete for a national championship, and these players can help us accomplish that goal.”

UNO will play its final season in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association in 2012-13 before joining the new National Collegiate Hockey Conference the following year. The regular season begins October 12th at the Icebreaker Tournament in Kansas City.

The list of recruits includes four players who skated in the United States Hockey League last season and two from the North American Hockey League. Two have already been drafted by National Hockey League teams.

Forwards
Charlie Adams – Austin Bruins (NAHL)
Height: 6-0; Weight: 195; Hometown: Mahtomedi, Minn.; DOB: March 15, 1992
Adams played two seasons for Austin of the North American Hockey League and last season had 18 goals and 33 assists for 51 points in 60 games to lead the team in scoring. He finished the season with three powerplay goals and two game-winners while accumulating 32 penalty minutes. Adams also had two goals and an assist for three points along with two penalty minutes during eight games in the 2012 playoffs. The native of Mahtomedi, Minn. was named to the NAHL All-Central Division Team. He finished his junior career with 35 goals and 57 assists for 92 points in 116 games. He also was an all-conference hockey and football player at Mahtomedi High School.

Tanner Lane – Omaha Lancers (USHL)
Height: 6-2; Weight: 185; Hometown: Detroit Lakes, Minn.; DOB: Aug. 13, 1992
Lane played for two teams last season, finishing with the Omaha Lancers where he scored 12 goals and 20 assists for 32 points in 48 games. He also had a goal and eight assists in 12 games with the Fargo Force before being traded to Omaha. In 117 career USHL games with Omaha and Fargo, the native of Detroit Lakes, Minn. scored 17 goals and added 37 assists for 54 points. He also played in nine playoff games. Lane was drafted by the Atlanta Thrashers (now the Winnipeg Jets) in the 6th round, 160th overall, in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft.

Aaron Pearce – Waterloo Blackhawks (USHL)
Height: 6-0; Weight: 185; Hometown: Mississauga, Ontario; DOB: April 30, 1992
Pearce played two seasons for the Waterloo Blackhawks, registering 16 goals and 14 assists for 30 points and 33 penalty minutes in 56 games last season. He had four powerplay goals, two shorthanded goals and four game winners. Pearce added five goals and six assists for 11 points and 20 PIM in 15 playoff games for the Blackhawks who were runners up in the Clark Cup Finals against Green Bay. He was team captain in 2011-12 and an alternate in 2010-11. In his career, the native of Mississauga, Ontario played in 101 games, scoring 25 goals and 46 points along with 87 penalty minutes. He had six goals and six assists to go along with 20 penalty minutes in 17 career playoff games.

Defensemen
Brian Cooper – Fargo Force (USHL)
Height: 5-10; Weight: 180; Hometown: Anchorage, Alaska; DOB: Nov. 11, 1993
Cooper finished second in defenseman scoring for the Fargo Force with six goals and 18 assists for 24 points. He added another goal and two assists in six playoff games. During his three-year career with the Force, the native of Anchorage, Alaska had 20 goals and 50 assists for 70 points in 161 games. He also had three goals and six assists in 24 career playoff games, helping the Force to the Clark Cup Finals in his first season. He was named to the All-USHL Second Team following the 2011-12 season, the second straight year he earned the honor. He was also the USHL's Scholar-Athlete Award winner, carrying a 3.9 grade point average, in 2011-12.

Nick Seeler – Des Moines (USHL)
Height: 6-2; Weight: 185; Hometown: Eden Prairie, Minn.; DOB: June 3, 1993
Seeler split time between Muskegon and Des Moines of the United States Hockey League last year, his only season of junior hockey. He had two goals and 13 assists for 15 points in 32 games at Muskegon before being traded to Des Moines where he finished with two goals and 11 assists in 26 games. The native of Eden Prairie, Minn. was drafted by the Minnesota Wild in the fifth round, 131st overall, in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft.

Goaltender
Anthony Stolarz – Corpus Christi IceRays (NAHL)
Height: 6-5; Weight: 200; Hometown: Jackson, N.J.; DOB: Jan. 20, 1994
Stolarz appeared in 50 of 60 games for the Corpus Christi IceRays of the North American Hockey League last season, posting a record of 23-22-4 with a 2.84 goals-against average and a .920 save percentage. He also posted three shutouts. He finished second in the league in minutes played (2,938:42) and saves (1,602) and finished in a tie for ninth in save percentage. He also played in two games during the NAHL's Top Prospects Tournament, finishing with a 1.33 GAA and a .965 save percentage. The native of Jackson, N.J. is the fourth-ranked North American goaltender eligible for the 2012 NHL Entry Draft in late June as ranked by NHL Central Scouting.
