Denver beat the Omaha hockey team, 2-0, on Saturday night to win the National Collegiate Hockey Conference best-of-three quarterfinal series two games to one.
The loss ended the season for the Mavericks who finished 17-18-2 overall. Denver, which improved to 18-15-6, moves on to the NCHC Frozen Faceoff in Minneapolis next week.
