Mikael Lickteig scored the game-winning goal in overtime as Michigan Tech beat Nebraska Omaha 2-1 Saturday night at CenturyLink Center Omaha for a split of their weekend series.
Lickteig's goal 2:56 into OT dropped 14th-ranked UNO three points behind WCHA leader St. Cloud State, which beat Bemidji State on Saturday.
David Johnstone opened the scoring for the Huskies (8-13-4, 5-11-4), who got 36 saves from Pheonix Copley. The Michigan Tech netminder made 14 stops in the third period.
Josh Archibald tied the game 1-1 for UNO (16-10-2, 12-6-2), but Lickteig broke the tie and kept Mavericks goalie John Faulkner from tying the school record for wins. He has 52 career wins.
