Andrej Sustr and Dominic Zombo had a goal and assist apiece as Nebraska Omaha beat Michigan Tech 4-3 Friday night at CenturyLink Center Omaha.
Sustr and Zombo each answered Michigan Tech goals, helping UNO maintain the lead in the first period. NCAA scoring leader Ryan Walters also had a goal for the 14th-ranked Mavericks (16-9-2, 12-5-2), who moved into second place in the WCHA, just two points behind St. Cloud State. Nebraska Omaha is 5-1-1 in its last six games.
Michigan Tech (7-13-4, 4-11-4) followed a troubling pattern that meant Johnnie Searfoss' goal 4:32 into the first period was the game-winner. The Huskies are 0-12-3 when the opposition scores first.
John Faulkner had 26 saves to win his 52nd game, one short of Dan Ellis' school record.
