Mav Salama Named To Summit League Academic Team
UNO junior defender Mo Salama was named to the Summit League Academic All-League Team on Wednesday. The team was voted on by the faculty athletics representatives and sports information directors from all eight institutions.
Salama, an Omaha native and Millard West product, holds a 3.83 GPA majoring in civil engineering. He started 11 of 13 games this season after an early season injury and had one assist while helping lead a Maverick back line that allowed 0.96 goals per game in conference play, second best in the league.
To be eligible for the Academic All-League team, a student-athlete must have a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of at least 3.30 (on a 4.0 scale), completed at least one full academic year at the current institution and participated in 50 percent of their team's games.
