Cole Bruns made 35 saves in regulation and overtime and then denied all three Buccaneer attempts in the shootout as the Lancers won 2-1 Friday night in Des Moines.
The game was scoreless until 1:42 into the third period when on a power play, Gage Hough redirected Matias Cleland’s left point one-timer for his sixth goal of the season to put Omaha up 1-0.
Des Moines' Luke Voltin snapped in his sixth of the season at 6:43 to tie the score.
The Lancers won in the shootout when Tyler Moy notched the only goal for either side.
