Lancers Net First Win Of The Season

The Lancers scored with :04 remaining in regulation to tie the game and Alex Lyon turned away all three Sioux City attempts in the shootout as Omaha earned a 3-2 come-from-behind road victory Saturday night for their first win of the season.

The Musketeers broke the scoreless deadlock 8:38 into period two when David Henry cleaned up a rebound in the slot for his first goal of the season.

Omaha (1-3) tied the score at the 12:08 mark of the third period on the power play as Ben Ostlie launched a left point one-timer into the back of the net for his first goal of the season and second of his USHL career.

Sioux City regained the lead with just over two minutes left in regulation when, in the midst of another Lancer power play, David Goodwin broke away shorthanded and made no mistake in landing his first goal of the season. The unassisted tally came 17:54 into the final period.

The Lancers evened the game while on another power play and Lyon back to the bench in favor of the extra attacker. Tucker Poolman sent a shot from the high slot between the legs of Joe Ballmer for his first career USHL goal at 19:56.

After a scoreless overtime, Omaha completed its comeback when Drew Melanson netted the only goal of the shootout.
