Justin Quale made 19 saves in relief in his USHL debut as Tri-City edged the Lancers 3-2 Saturday night at Ralston Arena.
The Storm took a 2-0 lead in the opening period. Jared Linnell threw a wrist shot from below the goal line that deflected off traffic atop the crease before rolling over the goal line at 6:28. Connor Chatham's team-leading 10th goal of the season at 16:23 of period one got the Lancers on the board. Storm starting goaltender Johan Mattsson was injured on the play, forcing Quale into action.
Omaha tied the game when Drew Melanson redirected Ryan Tait’s centering pass up and under the crossbar for his fifth goal of the season at 10:57 of the second period.
Tri-City reclaimed the lead 1:58 into the third period when John Hrabovsky lifted a left point slap shot through traffic and past Lyon for his third of the season.
