Alex Lyon made 42 saves and Gage Hough and Robbie Baillargeon both scored twice as the Lancers defeated Lincoln 4-2 Saturday afternoon at TD Ameritrade Park Omaha, the first outdoor game in the history of the United States Hockey League.
Omaha took a 1-0 lead just 1:20 into the game when Trent Samuels-Thomas slipped a pass behind the Lincoln defense to Hough who sent in his sixth goal of the year. The Lancers made it 2-0 at 8:16 on a power play. Baillargeon sent a cross-crease pass to Hough who chipped in his second of the game.
Lincoln got on the board just :09 later. Phillip Marinaccio won a battle for a loose puck atop the Lancer goal crease before jabbing in his 12th goal of the year.
Omaha responded 1:23 after that again on the power play to take a 3-1 lead as Dominic Racobaldo found Baillargeon at the side of the net. That ended the afternoon for Lincoln goaltender Michael Bitzer, pulled after making only one save on four shots.
It didn't matter to the Lancers, who padded their lead on replacement Jackson Teichroeb at the 17:59 mark when Baillargeon netted his second goal of the game and team-leading 16th of the season for a 4-1 lead after one period.
Will Suter netted his ninth of the season for the Stars 6:47 into the second period.
