Jays Hammer Butler 8-1

The Creighton Bluejays powered past Butler Friday night scoring all they runs they’d need in the first inning on their way to an 8-1 win.

The Jays put up four in the bottom of the first, added two more runs in the second and tacked on the insurance with two more split between the third and fourth innings.

Butler’s lone score of the night went up in the second.

Friday’s game was the first of a three-game series with Butler and the threat of bad weather is going to compress the rest of the play into a doubleheader on Saturday.

They’ll play two on Saturday, April 26 beginning at 2 pm. The final game of the series will be played approximately 45 minutes following the conclusion of the Saturday's first game.

Tickets for Saturday game will be good for both games of the doubleheader. Tickets for Sunday's game can be redeemed for any remaining regular season home games (excluding the Tuesday, April 29 Nebraska at Creighton game) at the Creighton Ticket Office located inside the Ryan Athletic Center (open 9 am to 4:30 pm on weekdays) or at the TD Ameritrade Park Omaha Box Office on game days starting one hour prior to first pitch.
