Indiana was chosen as the top men's basketball team in the Big Ten and the Hoosiers' Cody Zeller was selected as the Preseason Player of the Year in a vote by conference media.
With all five starters back from a team that went 27-9 and reached the Sweet 16, expectations are soaring for the Hoosiers.
A big reason for that is the 6-foot-11 Zeller, who averaged 15.6 points and 6.6 rebounds as a freshman last season. He was a unanimous pick for the preseason all-conference team with Michigan's Trey Burke, Ohio State's Aaron Craft and Deshaun Thomas and Penn State's Tim Frazier also making it.
Michigan and Ohio State were picked to finish second and third, respectively, after sharing the regular-season title with Michigan State last season.
Tim Miles begins his first season as head coach at Nebraska after guiding the Colorado State program for the past five seasons, including a berth in the 2012 NCAA Tournament.
In 2011-12, he guided Colorado State to the program's first 20-win season since 1997-98 as the Rams led the Mountain West Conference in field goal percentage, three-point percentage and free throw percentage.
