Saturday's Royals-Red Sox game in Kansas City was "Huskers Night at the K," the first time Nebraska has been included in a college night promotion at Kauffman Stadium.
The Royals honored Big Red and their fans. The first 1,500 fans with Nebraska-specific tickets received a red-and-white baseball cap with a KC insignia.
Husker baseball coach Darin Erstad, who spent 14 years in the big leagues with the Angels, White Sox and Astros, threw out the ceremonial first pitch.
Boston went on to defeat the Royals 5-3.
