Huskers Edge Cincinnati 2-1

Nebraska won its second straight after four losses to open the season, nipping the Bearcats 2-1 Sunday afternoon in Cincinnati.

Sophomore Amy Swearer started her first game in goal, making a career-high six saves. Swearer was put in the lineup due to Emma Stevens being forced to miss Sunday's game after receiving a red card Friday at Baylor.

Nebraska also welcomed back junior midfielder Ari Romero, who had missed the first five games of the season while she was competing in Japan at the FIFA U-20 World Cup with the Mexican National team.

A pair of goals by freshmen proved to be the difference. Alex Massey scored her first career goal 6:42 into the game when she put a header into the back of the net following a corner kick from Caroline Gray.

Katie Kraeutner notched her second of the season to put the Huskers up 2-0 at 84:29. Cincinnati's Mackenzie Grause scored less than :10 later to cut the lead in half.
