The Nebraska Cornhuskers dropped from 18th to 22nd in Associated Press after a disappointing win this past weekend. Alabama remained at the top spot.
Nebraska beat Wyoming 37-34 in the season opener in Lincoln Saturday. However, many see room for improvement since the Huskers allowed 602 yards to Wyoming, the second-most yards the team had allowed in a win. The most was 610 yards to Ball State in 2007.
Nebraska will face Southern Mississippi this Saturday. Southern Miss lost its opener 22-15 to Texas State. They are coming to Lincoln with a 13-game losing streak, the longest in the FBS.
