A 22-5 run spanning halftime led Nebraska to a 63-38 victory over Creighton Saturday afternoon at Pinnacle Bank Arena.

Hailie Sample, who had a career-high 20 points against the Bluejays last year in Omaha, scored a season-high 13 points for NU while Emily Cady added a game-best 14.

The Huskers got a traditional three-point play from Sample with 2:26 left in the first half to take a 33-24 lead, only to have CU respond with a three-ball by Sammy Jensen. Sample answered two trips later with a backdoor lay-up and the teams would go to intermission with NU in front 35-27.

The Jays held the Huskers scoreless on its first three possessions of the second half before All-American Jordan Hooper made her first field goal of the day and Tear'a Laudermill scored in transition to move NU's lead to 39-27. Hooper had a season-low three points, but added a season-high 15 rebounds.

Creighton would miss its first nine shots of the second half, falling behind 45-27 before finally finding the bottom of the net on a Jensen trifecta with 13:55 left in the game. The Bluejays would get no closer than 14 the rest of the way, shooting just 4-for-35 in the second half.

Alyssa Kamphaus had eight points and seven rebounds to lead Creighton. Marissa Janning added eight points. Creighton out-rebounded the Cornhuskers 41-39, but shot 23.1 percent on the day (15-65).

Nebraska improved to 8-2 while the Bluejays dropped to 4-5.
