The Huskers reached the .500 mark with their first conference road sweep since 2008, downing Purdue 12-2 Sunday afternoon at West Lafayette, Indiana.

Nebraska (19-19,11-4 Big Ten) scored at least 10 runs in all three games and totaled 41 hits off Purdue pitching, including 16 on Sunday. Pat Kelly went 4-for-6 with a pair of RBIs and Michael Pritchard extended his hitting streak to 19 games with a pair of hits.

Following five innings of no-hit ball in a combined no-hitter of No. 10 Arkansas last Tuesday, Kyle Kubat took the mound against the Boilermakers and went right back to work to improve to 2-0. He didn’t allow a hit until No. 9 batter Jake Hansen reached on a one-out single in the third.

The Boilermakers (11-25, 4-11 Big Ten) were able to get to Kubat in the third when they cut Nebraska’s lead to 3-2 with a pair of runs on three straight hits. Clinging to that one-run lead entering the sixth, Nebraska plated at least two runs in each of the last four innings of the game.

The Huskers got a pair in the sixth on a double by Pritchard to make it 5-2. They added a pair of insurance runs in the seventh to give the bullpen a 7-2 lead. Rich Sanguinetti sacrificed in a run and on a two-out throwing error the shortstop Hansen, Kelly caught the Boilermakers napping and scored from second base.

Purdue starter Kyle Wood (0-1) lasted just two innings, giving up two runs on three hits and three walks. Seven Purdue relievers worked the final seven innings and were touched for 10 runs on 13 hits.
