Sheldon Dries scored three times and Alex Kile and Nicholas Schilkey each chipped in three assists as defending USHL champion Green Bay thumped the Lancers 6-1 Friday night at Ralston Arena.
After a scoreless first period, the Gamblers scored just :24 into period two on a power play courtesy of Dries' first tally. Dries scored goal number two at 5:23.
The Gamblers then pulled away with four goals in the final period. First, Nick Schmaltz was left alone atop the Omaha goal crease before chipping in 14th of the season 7:16 into the third period.
It became a 4-0 game on when Dries completed his hat trick with his 20th of the season at the 9:15 mark. Schmaltz then buried his second goal of the night and 15th of the season 14:15 into the period.
Shane Gersich netted his first career USHL goal to get Omaha on the scoreboard at 15:20. Green Bay capped its offensive outburst with an empty net goal from Ben Gallacher in the final minute of regulation.
