The Storm Chasers defeated the Iowa Cubs 5-2 Wednesday afternoon in Des Moines.
Irving Falu's home run in the third gave the Storm Chasers a 1-0 lead. Blake Lalli's homer in the fifth tied it.
Omaha took a 3-1 lead in the sixth on singles by Anthony Seratelli, Salvador Perez, Tony Abreu and David Lough. Iowa got a run back in the bottom of the sixth on back-to-back doubles by Juan Apodaca and Luis Valbuena.
The Storm Chasers added insurance runs in the eighth (Seratelli singled, took second on a Wil Myers single and scored on a double steal and throwing error by Cub catcher Apodaca) and ninth innings (Jason Bourgeois walked, advanced to second on a balk by pitcher Rafael Dolis, stole third and came home on Falu's single.
Doug Davis (1-1) went 5.1 innings, charged with two runs on six hits, striking out three without walking a batter. Rodrigo Lopez (1-1) took the loss, giving up three runs on eight hits in six innings, striking out six without surrendering a base on balls.
