The Huskers concluded week three of fall camp with a situational walk-through for just over an hour at Memorial Stadium Saturday afternoon.

Coach Bo Pelini noted that he likes the leadership presented by some of the more experienced players on defense. “Josh Mitchell and Coop (Corey Cooper) are ones and Banderas by the nature of his position. We have some guys that have some experience that have been through it and do a nice job of leading that group.”

Junior preseason All-American candidate Randy Gregory is also a leader on the NU defense, according to Pelini, but as a leader by his actions rather than being vocal. “Randy is a really good football player and he is a quiet guy. He is a leader by how he plays and by his actions on the field. He is not a real vocal guy, but he is when he needs to be.”

Pelini mentioned that captains haven't been chosen yet for the upcoming season as well as current walk-ons who will be awarded scholarships for the academic school year. Also, there have not been any announcements regarding freshmen who will be redshirting for the season. An announcement should come this week.

The Huskers will be back on the practice field Monday for game week preparations for the season opener against Florida Atlantic in Lincoln next Saturday.
